NaNoWriMo 2011
HI! Oh my god. I know I haven't finish my novel yet but I've reached 50,000 words before the deadline which was before 1st of December, local time :) I've got to admit that NaNoWriMo is one of the craziest thing I've ever done. NaNoWriMo is actually to be done within the 30 days of November but I think I only need 20 days, haha :D It was a lot of pressure but I find it fun *LOL*
I knew about NaNoWriMo around a week after it starts this year and I was interested. At first, I'm not sure of joining but then Fatimah told me to do it. She said it would be an experience so I did and I started to think of a story. Until now, I'm not entirely sure of what genre does my novel belongs to but since it's about two friends doing random things each day in a month and the title of the novel is "31 Random Doings" so I made the genre as "Other" and I typed in "Random". Cool genre, no? :p
Actually, the very first name I gave to my novel was "31 Days of Random Doings" but I thought it's too long and changed it to "31 Random Missions". I asked some friends on Twitter, I think and then Rayyand suggested "31 Random Doings" which actually was on my novel title list but I wasn't so sure - but now I am! :)
I know some people might think that NaNoWriMo is just a waste of time and blah blah blah and then some people would be like NaNoWriMo is a way to improve your writing skills and zits like that. I did it for experience and for fun :p And now? I'm a winner! Even though it's only my first time ;)
Some of you *doubt* might be thinking why I participated in the adult version of NaNoWriMo and not the Young Writers program which is much easier as it doesn't have to be 50,000 words to win. Well, I happen to know NaNoWriMo for the adults first and joined it before I know the Young Writers program.
But I can still join the Young Writers program, no?
Yes. I was about to join but then when I clicked something about student, there was a drop-down menu box which had a choice of: elementary, secondary and high school. I've finished high school, I thought to myself and I'm going to college soon so I cancelled joining the Young Writers program and just stick with the adult version of NaNoWriMo :)
Basically, I like NaNoWriMo and I think I might be joining Script Frenzy on April next year IF I'm not too busy with college life and IF I have time :) I want to join though. It sounds simpler than NaNoWriMo, to be honest. I want to join NaNoWriMo again next year but we'll see :)
Oh, I'm supposed to have my Winner certificate but I can't print because the printer in this house has no ink. Nyawwhh ... Okay, that's it for now. Toodles!
